Eastleigh is fast becoming the preferred city for househunters and entertainment as young adults look for alternatives to Southampton. The town is really putting itself on the map with the recent additions of Vue cinema, Frankie and Bennys, Nandos and AMF bowling.

Many young adults living in surrounding areas are choosing to visit the Eastleigh branches of these popular places for ease of parking, more availability and smaller crowds.

This, in turn is making Eastleigh an attractive place to live with all these extras on the doorstep.

Barratt sales director Mark Docherty said: “People often pay a premium to live in the centre of big cities like Southampton because everything is nearby and you often don’t even need a car. We’ve been building in Eastleigh for several years now and the regeneration of the town centre with all the new attractions of entertainment and restaurants is really proving a big draw. People don’t need to travel into the city to go and see a film or enjoy a night with friends.”

Barratt is currently offering a contribution of five per cent towards the cost of an apartment at its Twyford Square development in Eastleigh, where over 95 per cent of homes have now been sold, with just four home remaining.

“This offer towards the cost of the home, or redeemable against the purchase, is being made on our one and two bedroom apartments, with prices starting at £104, 995,” said Mark.

“The apartments are the ideal home for a first-time buyer or a couple, and come with spacious accommodation, including an entrance hall, lounge/diner, fitted kitchen and large bedroom(s). Additional benefits include double glazing, energy efficient heating and a parking space outside.

The development is conveniently located off Twyford Road in Eastleigh, adjacent to the River Itchen. The town’s Swan Shopping Centre, with its bars and restaurants, is within walking distance and the nearby M3 offers easy access to the south coast and to London.
