Stamford Homes appoints new land director

Stamford Homes has appointed Mike Walker as its new land director.
The move marks a welcome return to the company for Mike, who first worked for the Peterborough-based new homes builder in 2000 as a land buyer.
A background in town planning for Peterborough City Council, working on the Hampton township during its early days, and as a planning consultant for a firm of architects, has provided a useful platform for a switch of roles for Mike.
As a land buyer, and then land manager, Mike received his first experience of the new homes industry with Stamford Homes - and during his spell away from the company he gained further experience as a land director with other new homes developers.
He is now relishing his new role with Stamford Homes, based at the Orton Southgate head office.
“While it has been great to see some familiar faces on my return, the business has changed with the times,” he said.
“We are very busy at the moment, searching for and securing new land opportunities around the region as part of the Galliford Try group expansion. These are really exciting times for Stamford Homes with four major land acquisitions already secured in the last six months and more in the pipeline”
Family man Mike (41) lives in Stamford with his wife Nacera and their two and a half year old daughter Eloise.
