Roger Federer, Andy Murray, the Williams sisters and the other tennis millionaires will be playing for significant amounts of prize money when Wimbledon starts at the end of June. And it is not just the players who can make big money out of tennis.

Local people are the highest profile Wimbledon winners. For the two-week tournament, they can make considerable money by renting out their flats or houses to tennis stars and their hangers-on.

It’s not just large families homes that players look for either. Many one and two bedroom apartments are let during the tournament like those at a new development in Wimbledon named Chorus. Here, Durkan Estates has created a collection of apartments which have already been popular with investors taking advantage of the excellent location and specification.

Kathryn Price, Development Manager for Durkan Estates comments: “The number of people who need somewhere to stay during Wimbledon fortnight just keeps rising. Most of the top players have families and entourages who all need short-term accommodation and the world's media also need to be near to the courts.

“Residents are known to make up to £800 a week for a one bedroom apartment and £1,200 a week for a two bedroom which ultimately can pay for them to go on holiday for the fortnight. Of course, the other big attraction will be when the Olympics start as Wimbledon will be hosting the tennis tournament which I am sure will attract people from all over the world!”

Chorus is in an enviable position in the heart of Wimbledon with its eclectic mix of shops, restaurants and cafes. Just behind the stylish new-build apartments is Wimbledon’s South Park Gardens conservation area with its beautiful landscaped parkland. There are fantastic views of the parkland from the development and every resident can relax and enjoy them from the communal roof terrace.

Each new home is finished to a high standard with a keen eye on the design details you look for in a modern new home. Kitchens are bespoke with stone worktops and feature De-Dietrich appliances including an oven, ceramic hob, stainless steel hood and integrated fridge / freezer and dishwasher.

Bathrooms feature Roca sanitaryware and steel bath, ceramic tilin to the walks, heated chrome towel rail and vanity mirrors. There are carpets to all bedrooms and walnut hardwood veneer flooring to the hall, lounge and kitchen. In the hallway there is a large cupboard which features a washer / dryer, ideal to keep the noise out of the kitchen! Nearly all apartments have outside space. There is a video entry system to each apartment plus the option of secure parking at an additional cost.

Wimbledon Common is within walking distance and Wimbledon station provides easy access into town with regular trains to Vauxhall (Victoria line), Clapham Junction and London Waterloo.

Prices for apartments at Chorus start from £425,000 for a two bedroom apartment. For further information or to book an appointment to visit the stunning show home, visit: chorus-wimbledon.co.uk
