A taste of contemporary aboriginal culture in Perth

Urban Indigenous Tours, run by Perth local Rebecca Casey, aims to offer a taste of contemporary aboriginal culture in the city.

It combines an aboriginal art class with the chance to meet established Aboriginal artists such as Peter Farmer and Lance Chadd, taste contemporary bush foods and enjoy a lesson in how to play the didgeridoo.

Along the way the guides share insights into contemporary history and personal stories as well as dispelling many modern day myths.

Tours operate Tuesday to Saturday and cost $125 per person.
