Off-plan buyers flock to Wolverton Mill

18th May 2010 Print

Bloor Homes South Midlands has announced that all of the spacious, family friendly homes at its Treetops II development in Wolverton Mill, Milton Keynes, have sold off plan, putting confidence back into the property market.

Vanessa Macnee, Sales Director for Bloor Homes comments: “We are amazed at how quickly the homes at Treetops II have sold, indicating there is more buoyancy in the marketplace. The success is primarily down to our agents Elevation New Homes; who have raised the bar in helping to sell the properties!”

Treetops II provides a range of three and four bedroom homes which all proved popular with local, family buyers. Thanks to Bloor’s part-exchange scheme, buyers are getting even more of a bargain by cutting out the expense of agents’ fees.

Emma Dedman was after convenience and cost-saving when she and her fiancé Ross were hunting for their first family home. "The part-exchange process was brilliant – a quick, simple process," says Emma, 31, who works as a recruitment manager for Barclaycard in Northampton. And with a newborn son, Finlay, to cope with, speed and efficiency were essential.

"We needed a bigger property," says Emma; "our old house was my three-bedroom terrace, which I’d lived in for eight years. We were looking for our first family home and we noticed Treetops when it was first being built. We loved it, but it was a little out of our price range so we were delighted months later when Ross noticed that more houses were being built."

With the new phase of homes at Treetops, Emma and Ross realised they could part exchanging their old home, saving not only money but also the hassle of managing viewings and chasing agents.

"Two agents valued the house and Bloor made us an offer which we accepted; we paid the difference between the value of the old house and the cost of the new. Bloor even gave us £250 commission rebate because the house was sold while we were still in it!

"It was such a convenient way of doing things. We also took advantage of being able to upgrade things before moving in, such as installing an extra TV point, extra rails in the wardrobe and an outside tap. We also went for an upgraded kitchen with black gloss doors – just what I’ve always wanted.

"The aftercare has been brilliant, thanks largely to a fantastic site manager, who has been extremely helpful."

Emma, Ross and Finlay moved into the property in mid-April and are already feeling at home. The only thing that still feels unfamiliar is the amount of space they have to fill…
