Final chance to HomeBuy Direct in Wiltshire

19th May 2010 Print

The clock is ticking for prospective home owners looking to get onto the housing ladder in Wiltshire with the shared equity HomeBuy Direct scheme.

Homes bought under this scheme must be legally complete by the end of September and David Wilson Homes says that people should move quickly to ensure they can take advantage of HomeBuy Direct which allows them to move into a home for 70 per cent of the asking price.

Sales director Bernice McKenna said there is still a range of homes available at its Beaufort Park development in Wootton Bassett and at Wichelstowe in Swindon – but time is tight to ensure everything can be completed before the September deadline.

“HomeBuy Direct has been hugely popular with buyers and our current availability includes two bedroom apartments, two bedroom coach houses and larger three/four bedroom homes for families," she said. “But there is now limited time to take advantage of this scheme and we would urge those considering a new home to make their decision sooner rather than later."

HomeBuy Direct is the perfect solution for buyers needing help onto the housing ladder. Those eligible need only find 70 per cent of the purchase price. Up to 30 per cent is funded by a shared equity loan from David Wilson Homes and the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) together with the buyer’s five per cent deposit.

At Beaufort Park two different designs of apartment are available with HomeBuy Direct – the two bedroom Newbury Special and the two bedroom Milton Special.

The Newbury costs just £89,565 under HomeBuy Direct and offers an open plan living/dining room together with separate kitchen. The Milton special has two double bedrooms, one with ensuite facilities and an open plan living/dining room together with a separate kitchen and costs £95,165 under the scheme.

For families which qualify for HomeBuy Direct the three/four bedroom Queensville is a townhouse with a dining/family room on the ground floor with French doors to the garden and formal living room on the first floor. It costs £146,997 under HomeBuy Direct.

Set within picturesque Wootton Bassett, Beaufort Park is close to a wealth of schools, shops, pubs and other local amenities. The town is close to many rural villages and to Jubilee Lake – an area surrounded by woodland and popular with walkers, dog owners and anglers.

Commuters will find junction 16 of the M4 just two miles away with easy access to the nearby railway town of Swindon. The thriving cities of Bath and Bristol are also a short drive away.

At the newly opened Wichelstowe development David Wilson Homes is offering the two bedroom Dahlia coach house – a semi detached property with open plan living/dining area, a garage and parking space. This home costs £105,665 with HomeBuy Direct.

With individual finishes on every single home at Wichelstowe designed to complement the local surroundings, the development makes a superb base for modern living in a relaxed environment.

The location at Wichelstowe is a huge draw. “This is a new community right on the edge of Swindon – offering the best of both worlds,” said Bernice. “The convenience of shops, schools and all other local amenities, combined with the knowledge that the beautiful countryside of Wiltshire is right on the doorstep.”
