‘Shakey’ joins Road Rally challenge

World Superbike star Shane ‘Shakey’ Byrne will take part in the 2010 Express Insurance National Road Rally to help celebrate motorcycling across the UK.

The former two-time British Superbike winner, World Superbike race winner and former MotoGP competitor will enjoy one of the many ‘ride outs’ happening over the weekend of July 3-4, in which entrants can also raise vital funds for Mencap, the learning disability charity - the nominated charity for the event.

He said: “The National Road Rally is a huge celebration of motorcycling, where people taking part can join in the camaraderie and ride routes they perhaps haven’t done in the past.

“The Rally has an excellent and worthwhile charity link and I’m looking forward to meeting fellow riders and fans of motorcycling over the weekend.”
