Axtec at Futuresource 2010

Axtec (Axle Weight Technology Limited), the only company in the UK to specialise exclusively in vehicle axle weighing, will be providing details of its range of fixed, portable and vehicle-mounted weighing systems at Futuresource (Stand M59, Excel, London, 15-17 June).
For companies in the waste and recycling industry requiring a fixed weighbridge, and particularly where space is at a premium, the Axtec 4000 Series offers the ideal solution. They are widely used across the industry and key features that have proved of appeal to many companies and public bodies include:
A small footprint taking up very little yard space
A shallow pit that is easy to keep clean
Approved for public use – offering the opportunity to develop another income stream.
Accuracy – this is the most accurate dynamic weighbridge in the World!
Where a temporary axle weighing facility is required, for example on a construction site, the company can offer the Axtec Road Guardian weighpads. These highly accurate portable devices are available as 1, 2, 4 and 6 pad systems to accommodate a variety of truck and trailer configurations and can provide individual axle, bogie or gross vehicle/train weights. The Road Guardian system is available both for sale and for hire.
New to Futuresource is the much enhanced Axtec On-board 2 axle weighing system.Based on a well proven system already in use in many thousands of vehicles, this latest version includes the ability to link to a reversing camera, thus removing the need to have two screens in the cab. It can also store overload information in memory for reporting either by a simple SD card or automatically by radio link as the truck arrives back at the yard. And where a tracking device is fitted, it can provide live load condition information through this direct to the traffic office.
The Axtec On-Board 2 is a robust and highly reliable system that can be used in two or three-axle rigid vehicles, both steel sprung or air suspended, up to 26 tonnes gross weight. It uses sensors fitted to the front and rear axles to convey highly accurate information to an in-cab screen for display in a simple graphic and numeric format, with an optional audible warning in up to six languages.
Established in 1991 and based at Runcorn in Cheshire, Axtec can provide these off-the-shelf systems or work in partnership with customers to develop custom-made solutions to their axle and vehicle weighing needs. The in-house software design team is able to write programmes for special applications and the company has its own civil engineering department with directly-employed teams to undertake the necessary groundworks to ensure absolute accuracy of installation.
Axtec is the sole contractor to VOSA for the calibration and maintenance of its 88 roadside enforcement weighbridges across mainland Britain, many of which are Axtec Dynamic weighbridges. This particularly demanding contract requires that Axtec maintains availability at in excess of 97% and the company has always exceeded this target.
