Caterham and Lotus 7’s ‘jog’ for charity

Caterham and Lotus 7’s ‘jog’ for charity In an attempt to raise £5000 for Lukaemia Research, 15 Caterham and Lotus 7’s will set off next week on ‘LE JoG’ – an 800 mile, three day road trip from Land’s End to John O’Groats.

The idea was spawned by a group of avid Seven owners as a way for them to celebrate the legendary sports car’s 50th birthday. Their chosen route will allow the ‘LEJoGgers’ to take their two-seater performance cars along some of the UK’s best driving roads whilst simultaneously raising money for Leukaemia Research – the nominated charity of the Lotus Seven club.

Simon Scott, a Seven owner and one of the ‘JoG’s founders explains, ‘We have set a target of raising £5000, which currently stands at £3000 with just over a week to go. Leukaemia Research is a charity that is actively supported by members of the Lotus Seven Club, and although this event is not an official club event we decided it would be nice if we could raise some money for the charity whist having a good time driving our cars.’

The three day trip will feature a varied collection of Sevens, from early Lotus examples right through to modern Caterhams like the incredible CSR; a car that boasts a 0-60mph time of 3.1 seconds.

The mammoth trip will be broken into three stages with news and pictures uploaded onto the tour’s website each day.
