Fun, food & football at Scholars Walk launch

21st June 2010 Print

Fun, food and football were the order of the day, at the successful World Cup inspired show home launch event, at Taylor Wimpey’s Scholars Walk development in Portsmouth over the weekend.

Scores of visitors flocked to the themed event, getting into the spirit of the day by enjoying a true taste of South Africa with a traditional South African flavoured hog roast, expertly cooked on the spit by George and Johannes, the team behind Nyama Catering.

Homebuyers took the opportunity to be the very first to view the new show homes, whilst lucky winners scooped fabulous prizes including England Away shirts and a plasma screen TV, in the World Cup prize draw.

Pauline Fletcher, regional sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey Southern Counties, said: “The World Cup event proved extremely popular with visitors and was the perfect way to celebrate the launch of our two stunning new show homes. These homes showcase our existing property types and prospective purchasers were able to pick up some great interior ideas and style tips. Visitors were also able to receive expert advice and guidance about moving home or getting onto the property ladder from Taylor Wimpey’s experienced team which many people utilised.”

The three bedroom Evesham show home perfectly demonstrates the versatile use of space and high quality build that Taylor Wimpey is renowned for. Set over three floors, the ground floor features the living room with patio doors onto a private rear garden, open plan kitchen / breakfast room and useful cloak room.

Upstairs two bedrooms and a modern bathroom occupy the first floor whilst the master bedroom with en-suite is set in the eaves, enjoying privacy away from the rest of the house.

The two bedroom Hurley show apartment would make the perfect starter pad for those looking to get onto the property ladder. The contemporary apartment features an open plan living room / kitchen; ideal for entertaining friends, master bedroom with en-suite, second bedroom and modern bathroom. It also benefits from a single garage.

Portsmouth offers an irresistible mix of history and heritage, shopping, a lively arts scene, and a great selection of restaurants and bars. Port Solent, which is within easy reach, is a must see attraction, with its waterside eateries, dozens of shops, cinema and regular events at the Boardwalk. Scholars Walk is set in a popular residential area of the city, on land which was once part of Highbury College.

The development currently offers a range of two bedroom apartments and three and four bedroom homes with prices starting from just £139,995. To help make the move easier and more affordable the house builder is currently offering a range of financial incentives including part exchange, shared equity and Easy Mover*.
