Shane Smith drives straight to second place in the Club Pro Class in the Time Attack series. Despite the nitrous not working, in the TR Racing tuned and Turbo Dynamics turbocharged R34 GTR, he flew over the finish line at 141.60mph.

In the gruelling heat of Sunday 27th June the high octane, ability testing Time Attack round 3, took place at Brands Hatch. This is the series where top tuners test their mettle to battle against the clock to prove the fastest lap time in a series of 5 events, with the Cadwell Park and Snetterton rounds yet to come.

The TR Racing Skyline, running approximately 700HP without nitrous, posted a best lap time of 52.378secs, with 109.3 through the first trap and 141.60mph over the finish line.

This Garrett twin turbocharged vehicle is running TD Blue printed and prepared GT-RS turbo’s, with a TR Racing RB27 engine with TR Racing forged cranks and pistons, ex-Nismo prepared chassis and shell, number 7 of 12 built specifically for the Falken Tyres challenge in Japan it features a fully seam welded chassis and roll-cage from the factory, dry carbon fibre boot lid and Nismo dry carbon vented bonnet, Hollinger sequential gearbox, AST adjustable suspension and coilovers and hopes to fly into first place with its’ 100 shot of Nitrous from Wizards of Nos.

Harry Pelentrides of TR, commented, "We are really impressed with the speed on the day considering the cars weight and the lack of nitrous but there is definitely more to come from it. The car will go on a diet at the end of year to save more weight so we will be even quicker this time next year!"

A popular winner in the 4WD Class, Warren Kelly achieved a well-deserved victory in his Turbo Dynamics turbocharged Blue Escort Cosworth, which was one of four Cosworth’s that competed on the day. He achieved 103.9mph through the first speed trap, 129.3mph over the start/finish line with a best time of 53.4 secs.

TD Partner, Lateral Performance, had the quickest Subaru in Pro Class, driven by Gavin Renshaw, who also picked up the SIDC trophy with the sixth quickest time.

Round 4 takes place at Cadwell Park, an unproven track for the Time Attack series. There is no doubt that this, one of the most competitive motorsport formats around, will pull in the crowds for the excitement to come in round 4 on 1st August.
