There’s loads of reasons to jump on a plane with your family this winter to escape the cold for an unforgettable self-drive New Zealand summer family holiday in a Britz Campervan.

When you choose a Britz Campervan holiday, the journey will deliver as many happy memories as the destination. With an excellent range of two to six berth campervans and rental cars to suit most budgets, Britz lets you explore New Zealand’s wonderland and savour the journey in the comfort of a home away from home.

Britz Brand Manager Sharron Clark says, “We’ve fitted out our campervans with families in mind. There’s a decent sized fridge so you can stock up on all your family favourites so you’ll feel ‘right at home’ from the minute you pick up the keys and slip into the freshly laundered sheets. While you’re enjoying the scenery and conversation up front, the rest of your crew can enjoy the view and space out back - so everyone’s happy.”

Cleverly designed to maximise on space and all the elements you need for a stress free family getaway, all vehicles come fully equipped with everything from towels and linen to cutlery and can openers, leaving you nothing to think about except your next destination.

A Britz campervan also gives you the flexibility to travel and stay for as little or as long as you like. Whether you fall in love with the thermal hot pools in Rotorua or the long, sandy stretches of 90 Mile Beach, you’ll have the freedom to enjoy them for as long as you want.

Here are just a few other ideas to whet your appetite for exploring New Zealand this summer in your Britz campervan:

NORTH ISLAND
When collecting your Britz Campervan in the Auckland, take the opportunity to experience the beauty of the ‘City of Sails’ with a boat trip on one of New Zealand’s most beautiful harbours - the Hauraki Gulf. Walk to the crater, for amazing harbour views, on the volcanic island of Rangitoto or take a more leisurely approach with a gourmet lunch on one of the many vineyard restaurants on Waiheke Island before returning to the city to enjoy some of its vibrant summer night life at the Viaduct.

Head out of Auckland to Matakana to pick up supplies from the famous gourmet food and produce market in the town. Nearby, stop to snorkel at Goat Island, a protected underwater reserve rich in colourful fish and marine life.

Travel South to Waitomo Caves - a must see for visitors of all ages and an ideal stopover on the way to the geothermal capital of Rotorua. Two and a half drive hours drive from Auckland, Waitomo’s subterranean wonderland can be experienced in the traditional guided boats or, if you’re in need of an adrenalin injection, tubing and abseiling through these eerie underground caves on a Legendary Black Water Rafting Company 'Black Labyrinth' or 'Black Abyss' adventure.

SOUTH ISLAND
Kick off your visit in the South Island’s West Coast. Park up and watch the sunset over the glorious ruggered scenery.

For something a little different, partake in the Hokitika Wild Food Festival (March 12.) Rated by Frommers as one of its top ‘unmissable’ worldwide festivals, indulge in all sorts of weird and wonderful foods including the native huhu grubs and other local Maori delicacies. Numbers are limited so check this out before you leave home to avoid disappointment.

Drive north to Greymouth via the incredible Fox and Franz Joseph Glaciers and write your own personal note amongst the famous collection of driftwood messages in Bruce Bay. Venture further north to Punakaiki and watch the sea come to life, shooting through the blow wholes at the magnificent Pancake Rocks.

With Britz you can get up close and personal to the wonders of the great New Zealand scenery.  Four berth Britz vehicles start from as little as NZ$48/day (£22.50/day) based on a 7 day hire of a Britz Voyager.
