Orange gives cinema trips a twist with online video show

Orange is bringing a new experience to film fans this summer with the launch of Orange Wednesdays Movie Mates - an interactive, online video show and blog on orange.co.uk/moviemates. Every week, presenters Phil and Jacob will give their quirky and unique views on the latest film to hit the big screen. Designed to help people to choose which friend to take to the cinema, Orange Wednesdays Movie Mates follows the success of Orange Wednesdays and offers customers a new and fun dimension to their movie experience.

Each week Orange Wednesdays Movie Mates, created by digital agency Poke, will see stand-up comedians Phil and Jacob present a fun and entertaining five-minute sketch on a new film due for release. Phil and Jacob will give their take on three stand-out features from the chosen film. Whether it’s a special car chase, a horror scene or for those who love comedy, the show will help viewers decide which friend or family member to take along to the cinema with them.

Orange Wednesdays Movie Mates also delivers an interactive experience to bring the online video show to life. Facebook has been integrated into the Orange Wednesdays Movie Mates site, enabling film fans to invite friends to watch the whole show or pick a specific sketch of their choice. People will be able to tweet links to each episode while also posting comments on the Orange Wednesdays Movie Mates blog. The Orange Wednesdays Movie Mates site will also host a range of content for film lovers including details of competitions with the chance to win free cinema tickets or memorabilia from their favourite films.

The first Orange Wednesdays Movie Mates show goes live on 16th July on and will feature Phil and Jacob’s take on new sci-fi film, Inception, starring Leonardo DiCaprio. A clip of each show will also be posted on the Orange Wednesdays Film Club Facebook page.
