Fitness First heads for Antigua

To kick start a series of wellbeing retreats, rex resorts has teamed up with one of the UK’s leading health club groups, Fitness First, to launch their first week at Halcyon Cove by rex resorts in Antigua, departing 10th September 2010.

The collaboration with Fitness First and the First Club Travel Service in conjunction with Thomas Cook, includes a yoga and pilates instructor travelling out to the resort to give guests on the retreat two daily lessons. Mornings will start with Pilates on the Pier, where guests will enjoy an hour and half session of pilates over the blue Caribbean waters on the Warri Pier, the ultimate in serenity and awakening. This will be followed by a yoga session in the late afternoon, where guests will have the chance to practice their sun salutations as the sun sets across the beautiful Dickenson Bay.

Healthy eating options will be available throughout the day and with an emphasis on enjoyment as well as health, and guests can enjoy all the sporting activities available at the resort included in the price, such as kayaking, sailing, and tennis.

The Antigua health week is being promoted with the First Club Travel Service in conjunction with Thomas Cook and will be heavily advertised across all Fitness First clubs, with a footfall of 2million. rex resorts are trialing the week with a view to launching further health focused specials in the coming months across all of its properties in the Caribbean, which also include Barbados, St Lucia, Tobago and Grenada.

Thomas Cook is offering a week’s health retreat at Halcyon Cove by rex resorts in Antigua in conjunction with Fitness First from just £955 per person for 7 nights on an all inclusive basis, flying with virgin from London Gatwick on 10th September.
