Buyer bags her ideal property in High Wycombe

Hannah Capell stumbled across her dream home quite by accident – as she tagged along with her mum who was shopping for new homes in High Wycombe herself!

Jane Capell’s house hunt led her to Taylor Wimpey’s exclusive Kingshill Grange development of property for sale in High Wycombe, but it was daughter Hannah, 25, who ended up buying her first-ever home there with boyfriend Ross Hughes, 26.

And not only did the young couple secure the home of their dreams, but they also won an expenses-paid holiday to New York after being entered in a free Taylor Wimpey prize draw when they reserved their choice of High Wycombe flats.

Hannah explained: “Ross and I had been looking to buy our first home for months and months, but couldn’t find any houses or flats in High Wycombe that we liked, or that was in our price range.

“When mum said she was going to look for a house for herself at Kingshill Grange, I thought I would go along, with the intention of helping her, not looking for myself.

“But when we were speaking to the Sales Advisor, as an aside, I asked if there were any two-bedroom properties available – and he gave me details of the Speen coach house.

“I took a brochure home and showed it to Ross, who immediately said ‘I want it, I want it!’ – although it was a little out of our price range.

“The very next day the Sales Advisor called me, and offered us a fantastic deal which put it within our limits. Just a few weeks later we’d reserved our new home.

“When we found out we’d won the trip to New York as well, we couldn’t believe it. Now we’re looking forward to an amazing holiday as well as moving into our first home together.”

While the spacious design the stylish ‘Speen’ offers convinced Hannah and Ross to take the plunge and buy their first home, the all-important location was also a major factor.

Hannah, a marketing manager for a mobile phone content agency, said: “We are from the local area, and so we know what a fantastic, accessible spot Kingshill Grange is in. It’s perfectly placed for me, as I work in Marlow, and also for Ross, who is a client liaison manager at Missenden Abbey conference centre in Great Missenden.

“We’ve also got the M40 down the road, and can get to London by train from High Wycombe.”

The development’s position, in the leafy hamlet of Great Kingshill, was the icing on the cake for the happy first-time buyers, as Hannah explains: “Great Kingshill is so expensive, so we ruled out living there. But we have managed to get a brand new home there, that needs no work doing to it, and Taylor Wimpey has even paid our legal fees and included white goods in the deal. It’s something we never imagined we could find – and we haven’t had to compromise on anything.”
