Special tour will mark anniversary of the Gallipoli campaign

A special tour is being organised by Poppy Travel to mark the 95th anniversary of the Gallipoli campaign which claimed nearly half a million lives during eight bloody months in 1915.

The escorted tour will tell the story behind the eventual failure of this operation and the missed opportunities in a campaign that involved troops from across the British Empire. This will include a visit to Cape Helles where the Lancashire Fusiliers won six Victoria Crosses before breakfast!

There will also be the chance to look beyond the battlefields and visit Istanbul the beautiful capital of the former Ottoman Empire.

The tour takes place between 27 September – 4 October and the cost is £1269 per person sharing, £199 single supplement. This includes scheduled flights from and to Heathrow, accommodation on a half board basis, six lunches, entrance fees and coach transportation throughout.
