Far East on the up

2nd August 2010 Print

The world’s longest established travel company, Cox & Kings, has launched its new Far East brochure for 2011 featuring a comprehensive programme of escorted group tours and private tailor-made travel to China, Japan, Mongolia and South East Asia.

New for 2011 are a group tour and two private itineraries to Burma, a combined tour of Japan and South Korea and enhanced itineraries to Indo-China, Thailand and China.

2010 has seen Indo-China become the best-selling area in the Far East, with the Grand Tour of Indo-China becoming the brochure’s most popular tour and accounting for 25% of all the region’s group tour sales.

The group tour has seen a 60% increase in passengers and the private alternative has increased by an overwhelming 400%.

Yaow Butwisate-Lok, Cox & Kings’ Far East Product Manager says, “Indo-China is an exciting destination, which has a mix of cultures, landscapes, religions and traditions. It offers great value for money, fascinating cities and character hotels that maintain their luxury and offer unrivalled service”.

The Grand Tour of Indo-China will now include a night in Halong City, to allow for a morning junk boat cruise on Halong Bay when it is much quieter and the magnificent scenery can be fully appreciated. The price from £3,795 per person is comparable to 2010.
