Two legends ride in to Loomer Road

6th August 2010 Print

August 14th will be a very special night at the home of the Stoke Potters. Riding in on his Yamaha WR250R, will be speedway legend and 4 times World Champion Barry Briggs MBE, who is on the 'last lap' of his mega charity ride which kicked off at John O'Groats way back in March.

Since the Spring, Barry has taken in most of the UK's speedway tracks including the UK GP at the Millennium Stadium and has ridden over 5,000 miles on his Yamaha. His aim is to raise £120,000 for 12 riders who as a result of racing accidents, are confined to wheelchairs. Sport Relief too will benefit from Barry's fund raising.

The visit of the Kings Lynn Stars will also be marked by the appearance of another legend, this time a motorcycle!

The Yamaha Tenere name is, like Briggo, legend amongst Adventure riders worldwide and the long anticipated 2010 XT1200Z, Super Tenere is the latest model to bear the famous name.

Public appearances of this highly acclaimed bike are rare - it is only available to order via the internet – but on the 14th August, the 'Super Ten' will be taking its place alongside Briggo in the rider parade.

To celebrate the visit of these 2 legends of motorcycling, the Potters match will be sponsored by local Yamaha Premier Dealer, K2 Motorcycles Ltd of Stoke Road, Shelton who will also have a display of petrol sipping scooters and commuters for Potters fans to drool over!
