New Heritage Collection show homes launch in Devizes

Two family-friendly show homes - with children’s bedrooms inspired by the local wildlife - will open their doors in Devizes, this weekend (September 11 / 12).

Showcasing the style and quality of Redrow’s New Heritage Collection homes at Willowbrook, the show homes have been professionally styled and furnished by an expert team of interior designers.

The New Heritage Collection is a premium housing product with more than a hint of nostalgia, influenced by the ‘Arts and Crafts’ era, but boasting a specification to meet the needs of modern lifestyles. Redrow has deliberately set out to reintroduce a high degree of individuality to the way its homes look and feel and create spacious homes that people can live in for a lifetime.

Hayley Zaple, area sales manager for Redrow Homes (South West), said; “We have created two show homes ideal for families, which combine modern styling with the well-loved attributes and comforts of a traditional looking family home. We’ve also incorporated an owl room in one of the homes, and a Batman themed bedroom in the other, as a nod to the protected barn owl and bat populations we have here at Willowbrook.”

To protect the wildlife, Redrow has built a number of bat and owl boxes, strategically placed around the development to provide new roosting spots for the creatures. Fortunately disruption to them will be minimal as it was discovered that neither species uses the site for nesting or raising young.

Hayley added: “The wildlife is an important part of the environment here, so we thought it only appropriate to subtly reflect that through the themed children’s rooms in our show homes.

“Just like our New Heritage Collection, the show homes bring together the best of old and new - we’ve effortlessly blended traditional items of furniture with contemporary elements to create a timeless look. The show homes have been designed to reflect the way real people live their lives – we wanted to create a look people were inspired by, but also one they felt suited their everyday family life.”

The four-bedroom ‘Oxford’ has a subtle colour scheme of soft gold, navy and cream, combined with wenge wood furniture, emphasising the traditional theme.

In the open-plan kitchen and dining area there is a wenge wood glass-topped dining table and ivory chairs. This is complemented by one of Redrow’s high specification modern kitchens, which features floor to ceiling units and top name appliances.

The sumptuous master bedroom features beautiful floral pewter-effect walls and metallic curtains, while the two children’s bedrooms have been given fun themes; one for a canoeing enthusiast and the other a Batman fan, complete with a bat emblem headboard and a Batman mural on the wall.

Next door, the three-bedroom ‘Warwick’ incorporates plum tones, with soft pink, cream and white. In the lounge, a white sofa and aubergine chair complement one another perfectly, creating a stylish look when combined with pink cushions and the walnut TV unit. The ‘family’ is the focus in the kitchen / dining room, where family photos adorn the walls.

The ‘owl’ themed second bedroom comes complete with owl motif wallpaper and bird box clock and the third bedroom has been designed as a sewing / office room to portray the flexibility of the home as one that families can grow into.

Redrow’s development is close to the shops, schools and services of Devizes, a historic market town at the heart of Wiltshire, which also offers good commuter access to Bath and Swindon.

Three, four and six bedroom homes are available priced from £250,000 to £410,000.
