Give your family room to grow in an affordable home in Chorley with the help of a Government-backed scheme.

Thanks to HomeBuy Direct families in need of extra space can snap up a brand new home at two Redrow developments in Lancashire for a fraction of the usual cost. It’s available at Sandhurst Gardens, off Pilling Lane – just half a mile from Chorley town centre - and the Cedar Walk phase of nearby Buckshaw Village.

Lesley Myers, area sales manager for Redrow Homes (Lancashire), explained: “Some people are under the misconception that only first time buyers are eligible for HomeBuy Direct. It’s also available for families who can prove they’re in need of extra space, key workers and those starting over after a change of circumstances such as the break-up of a relationship.

“Raising a family and buying a home are the two most expensive things most people will ever do and some may think they can’t afford to do both. But with HomeBuy Direct customers can purchase a brand new home for an initial outlay of just 70% of the price.”

The remaining 30% is covered by an equity loan, jointly funded by Redrow and the Homes and Communities Agency. This loan is interest-free for the first five years and can be paid back when more funds are available or when they come to re-sell.

“HomeBuy Direct could be the difference between spending ‘dead money’ on rent and having a family home of your own. You should only need a relatively small deposit and to apply for a mortgage with a maximum loan-to-value of 70%. This will generally give home buyers access to much improved mortgage interest rates,” Lesley commented.

“Some may even find that mortgage repayments are lower than the rent for a similar sized property.”

Sandhurst Gardens and Cedar Walk both feature designs from Redrow’s New Heritage Collection. Traditional looking on the outside, they are thoroughly modern inside, with family friendly features including convivial open-plan layouts, fashionable kitchens with floor to ceiling units and top brand name appliances and modern bathrooms with quality fixtures and fittings.

Prices start from £89,995 for an apartment at Cedar Walk or just £62,996 with HomeBuy Direct; while at Sandhurst Gardens prices start from £124,995 or only £87,496 with HomeBuy Direct.

Chorley town centre is just half a mile away from Sandhurst Gardens, which enjoys a good choice of schools, shops and services within easy walking distance.

Situated between Chorley and Leyland, Buckshaw Village is already a thriving community. Along with the new homes, there is a successful business park, a pub / restaurant, recently opened community centre and outdoor sports amenities, as well as proposals for a district shopping centre and provision for a new railway station with park and ride facilities, a primary school and health centre.
