5th September 2010 Print

Toshiba have unveiled the new SL738 series at IFA in Berlin. Available in a range of sizes from 48 cm (19”) to 107 cm (42”), the slim Edge LED backlight SL738 series provides a wide range of options for every room in the home, and every lifestyle. They offer high picture quality combined with slim looks and low power consumption due to its LED backlight system. The glossy black SL738 series TVs are available with a choice of various integrated tuners, which allow them to receive analogue as well as digital terrestrial and digital cable broadcasting.

Good picture quality, good looks

The energy-saving Edge LED technology backlighting the LCD panel in the SL738 TVs provides brilliant picture quality despite its very slim design. The range also comes at an affordable price – from the small 48 cm (19”) model offering HD ready resolution (W-XGA) through to the large 107 cm (42”) device, which offers Full HD resolution and a 100 Hz frame rate.

Broad connectivity, easy to use

The SL738 TV series features a wide range of interfaces for fast and easy connectivity. Via a HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) input, the TV sets easily receive uncompressed multimedia streams from any HDMI enabled HD source. And, from a USB port, they offer a useful interface for playback of popular file formats such as MP3 and JPEGs. SCART and PC ports, component video, inputs and outputs for headphones, digital and analogue audio, and a DVB common interface (CI+) complement the broad connectivity feature set.

Models and availability

The SL738 series TVs include five models with different screen sizes: the 19SL738G with a 48 cm (19”), the 22SL738G with a 56 cm (22”), the 26SL738G with a 66 cm (26”), and the 32SL738G with an 81 cm (32”) 50 Hz HD ready screen. The 42SL738G features a 100 Hz Full HD display with a size of 107 cm (42”). All SL738 series TVs will be available in October 2010 throughout Europe.
