The apartments at Miller Homes’ Willow Fields development in Wesham are attracting people of all ages. Apartments are ideal as a first home or for those looking to downsize later in life.

This is the first time Pauline and Alan Todd have lived in an apartment and found it an ideal way to get back on the property ladder later in life. Pauline says: “We used to own our own home but wanted to move to a better area. The only way we could afford to do this was to rent, which we’ve been doing for the past five years.” Keen to get back on the property ladder, Pauline and Alan decided to take a look around Miller Homes’ apartments at Willow Fields. Pauline says: “Our son lives in Blackpool and our daughter is in Macclesfield so we wanted to be within easy travelling distance of both of them.”

The Todd’s have purchased a 2 bedroom apartment. Pauline says: “I’m getting used to living in an apartment rather than a house and ours is a nice size for us.” Pauline, Alan are already enjoying living at Willow Fields. Pauline comments: “It’s a nice, quiet development, close to the countryside. It’s also convenient for us both to get to work.”

Buying with Miller Homes went smoothly for the Todd’s. Pauline says: “Everything was fine and any tweaks we needed on the apartment were done straight away. We are very happy with the quality of our new home.”

Pauline and Alan are enjoying living in an apartment block with people of different ages. Pauline says: “I think it’s a good thing having people of different ages in the same block; it’s nice living together.”

One of the younger couples in the same block as Pauline and Alan is Jordann Leeson and Tom Bailey. Jordann also likes having people of a different generation close by. She says: “I’m enjoying the experience of having people close by and it’s nice that some are of a different generation to us. We have our own little community in our block, which is lovely.”

First time buyers Jordann and Tom have also purchased a 2 bedroom apartment. Jordann says: “We are loving our new home, everything is better than we expected. We enjoyed being able to choose the fixtures and fittings and now have the whole place exactly as we wanted. We love the open plan kitchen living area; it really is the heart of our home. Everyone is really impressed when they come to visit.”

For Jordann and Tom, the location of Willow Fields is ideal. Tom says: “We are close to amenities and it is also handy for me getting to work in Blackpool and Jordann in Preston. We have family in Kirkham so it is great for them to come and visit.”

Jordann and Tom found buying their new home easy with Miller Homes. Jordann says: “Barbara, the sales adviser, and the site manager were really good and were around to answer any questions we had.”

Jordann, Tom and the Todd’s bought their new apartments using the Government backed HomeBuy Direct (HBD) scheme. HBD is designed to help first time buyers and those in need of a more affordable way to buy their own new build home. People qualifying can pay as little as 70% of the price of their new home now and get an equity loan, co-funded by the Government and Miller Homes, for the remaining 30%. Unlike similar schemes, those qualifying own 100% of their new home from day one.

Jordann says: “Buying with HomeBuy Direct was the best option for us, as we didn’t need a large deposit. We received all the assistance we needed and Miller Homes helped sort out the mortgage. I’ve already recommended the HomeBuy Direct scheme to friends.”

For details of the properties available, and the HomeBuy Direct scheme, visit the Willow Fields marketing suite at Derby Road, Wesham, PR4 3AJ. It is open from 10.30am to 5.30pm Thursday to Monday.
