Ford backs Royal British Legion "Pedal to Paris" challenge

Ford support vehicles helped 300 cyclists including football's Graham Taylor and the Royal British Legion's President Sir John Kiszely 'Pedal to Paris'. Setting off from Greenwich Park in London on Thursday, they rode almost 300 miles, crossing the Champs Elysee finish line yesterday.
Ford supplied eight Galaxy multi-purpose vehicles and dealership Lifestyle Ford of Horsham added three long wheelbase Transits to transport the back-up team of mechanics, sports physiotherapists and vital food and drink supplies.
Sir John Kiszely, president, Royal British Legion said: "We were proud to have Ford and Lifestyle Ford's support as vehicle sponsors. The Ford Galaxys and Transits not only transported our team in comfort but were durable, reliable and totally fit for purpose. We were impressed with the style and versatility of the Galaxy and can understand why Transit continues to hold the title of Britain's favourite van after 45 years."
Kevin Griffin, fleet director, Ford of Britain said: "For over 30 years Ford has worked closely with NAAFI bases throughout the UK and in Europe assisting military personnel with vehicle purchases. We were delighted to support the Royal British Legion's 'Pedal to Paris' event, working in partnership with Lifestyle Ford to supply Galaxys and Transits."
Established in 1921, the Royal British Legion safeguards and supports those who are serving or who have served in the Armed Forces. In its 15th year, 'Pedal to Paris' is the Royal British Legion's main fundraising bike ride.
