Honda VR750S and Varadero 125 available in new colours

7th September 2010 Print

Honda’s new classically-styled VT750S motorcycle will be available in two striking new colours for 2011, further enhancing the machine’s classic retro looks.

In addition to the Heavy Metallic Grey colour currently available, the VT750S naked roadster will be released in a classy new Pearl Heron Blue with Shasta White paint scheme, as well as a classic Graphite Black option, both guaranteed to turn heads.

The VT750S provides motorcyclists of all experience levels with an attractive, easy-to-use motorcycle which boasts great all-round manageable performance combined with style in abundance.

Powering the VT750S is a liquid-cooled, V-twin motor of 745cc which, despite its timeless styling is thoroughly modern. It boasts Honda’s latest PGM-FI fuel-injection system which gives excellent economy and low emissions, but in keeping with the styling cues the V-twin features finned barrels for that ‘air-cooled’ look. The motor is designed to give optimum performance in the low to mid-section of the rev-range – just where you need it out on the road – so performance overall is impressive. The VT750S also features a close-ratio, five-speed gearbox so riders can make the most of the available power. The chassis uses a strong, steel double-cradle design and steering geometry gives excellent feedback and neutral handling.

But it is the styling of the VT750S which is winning fans. The look is one of a classic naked European street motorcycle from the 1960s and 1970s. The upright riding position, chrome finished headlight, twin exhausts, wire-spoked wheels and teardrop tank all hint to a bygone age of motorcycling, now brought right up to date and all with the reassurance of Honda reliability and build-quality.

The new colours will be available from Honda dealers from early 2011 and although the price is yet to be announced, it will be as competitively priced as the current machine at just £5,845 on the road.

In addition, the commuter and learner favourite the XL125V Varadero is also updated with two new colours for 2011 – Pearl Siena Red (with black tank) and Shasta White (with black tank) – in addition to the current  and striking Pearl Concours Black which will remain a colour option. The Varadero has long been a favourite for riders of all abilities since its UK launch in 2001. With the Varadero offering more generous proportions than many other 125cc machines, the bike soon became a favourite with urban riders, commuters and learners alike. In 2007 the bike was updated with fuel-injection. Further details about price and availability will be announced at the start of 2011, although again this great all-rounder machine will remain competitive, as is its current price of £4,390 on the road.
