New homes in Milton Keynes ideal for families

Parents Claire and Duncan Reid are loving the community spirit at Taylor Wimpey’s Broughton Gate development of Milton Keynes property.
Any reservations the Reid family may have had about settling in to a brand new community evaporated as soon as they met their neighbours at their new property in Milton Keynes.
Claire (32) and Duncan (31) and two-year-old son Jack, put down their roots at Taylor Wimpey’s stunning Broughton Gate development of houses for sale in Milton Keynes in April, after moving 20 miles up the M1 from Luton.
With friends and family no longer on the doorstep, the Reids can be forgiven for wondering if they had made the right decision to relocate. But just four months after arriving at their new house in Milton Keynes, the happy family can’t imagine living anywhere else.
Claire, who is expecting the couple’s second child in October, says: “We were sad to leave Luton, but, with a growing family to consider, we found Broughton Gate offers so much more for your money.
“We soon realised that there are so many people just like us here, families with small children, that there’s a real camaraderie here among our neighbours.
“Everyone is really keen to make friends, which is something you don’t always get on older estates or streets where people have lived there for years.
“Broughton Gate has a real sense of community already, and it’s going to be lovely to watch all the children around here grow up together.
“And having so many families nearby means we’ll never be short of a babysitter either. In fact, one of my new friends has even offered to babysit when I have to go into hospital for the birth, which is just such a lovely gesture!”
It’s not just the sense of community that has impressed Claire and Duncan, it’s the sheer amount of things to do in the local area.
“We’ll never get bored living here, and we’re still discovering different places to go” says Claire.
“Within 10 minutes by car you can be shopping at The Centre:MK or Ikea, walking by a lake, having fun at Gulliver’s Land theme park, plus there’s the Milton Keynes Bowl for concerts, the MK Dons football stadium and plenty of countryside to explore, while Woburn Safari Park is just 15 minutes away.”
The space, both inside and out, that their brand new home affords ticks another box for the Reids.
They chose a three-bedroom ‘Delamere’ townhouse, with a luxurious master bedroom suite on the top floor that is proving a particular hit for the busy mum and dad.
Claire says: “The top floor is a real parents’ sanctuary. It’s really nice to have your bedroom on a different floor to the children’s bedrooms. You get the whole floor to yourself, and they get the same.
“Our bedroom is so big we can comfortably fit in a 32” TV and a computer. It’s almost like a second lounge.
“And Jack loves his room. There’s plenty of space which means he can have all his toys in there and play happily in a safe environment. And a few years down the line there will be no fighting over bedrooms with his brother or sister as the third bedroom is also a double!”
A selection of three, four and five-bedroom houses are available to purchase at Broughton Gate, with prices ranging from only £215,995 for a terrific three-bedroom ‘Charleston’ to £389,995 for a magnificent four-bedroom ‘Fairfax’.
Broughton Gate lies on the eastern edge of Milton Keynes, which will benefit from a range of amenities under construction alongside the homes, including excellent public transport links and a primary school.
A wider selection of facilities can be found in nearby Kingston, a major retail area lying just a mile to the south, while the shops and leisure amenities of central Milton Keynes is only a few minutes’ drive away, along the Portway road.
Commuters will appreciate that Junction 14 of the M1 is only a mile from Broughton Gate, while Milton Keynes Central railway station runs regular 45-minute services to London Euston. For those travelling further afield, Luton Airport is only 24 miles away.
The Sales Centre, located off Milton Road, Broughton, Milton Keynes, is open from 10am to 5pm Tuesday to Sunday and 1.30pm to 5pm on Monday.
