Staff at Barratt Southampton are celebrating after completing the mammoth London to Paris bike ride recently to raise vital funds for Action Medical Research.

The grueling four day cycle totaling 325 miles, hosted the most entrants ever and saw a team of eight raise a fantastic £2500 for the charity researching premature births and pregnancy complications.

Clocking up an average of 75 miles a day, the team based at the housebuilders Hedge End offices, made their way through many picturesque villages.

Team captain and trainee surveyor Chelsey Watson said: “We’ve done this event a few times now so we know what’s involved but it doesn’t make it any easier! We had a target of £1500 this year but everyone’s been so generous we’ve reached £2500.”

The team working hard for those croissant and cheese rewards were Joe Lindsay, Pete Drury, Phil Rosewarne, Matt Streten, Mark Docherty, Chelsey Watson, Graham Watson and James Drury.

Local firm Borderland Fencing sponsored the team and has provided kit for the challenge.
