Limber up for 'Strictly Fit' with Fitness First

As Strictly Come Dancing waltzes back onto TV screens, everyone can try their hand at dance moves inspired by the hit BBC One television show with the newly refreshed Strictly Fit group exercise classes from Fitness First.

The classes were initially launched last year and have proved so successful with members and non members that new classes are set to be introduced nationwide this Autumn with fresh choreography and music.

“Strictly Fit is about having a fun workout. It’s low impact and has really captured the imagination of people of all ages,’’ said Fitness First’s UK fitness director Derek Crawford. “Both dance and group exercise classes are key trends in fitness at the moment and Strictly Fit perfectly combines these two elements.’’

Innovative changes for the new classes include four brand new dances including the Argentine Tango, which works the upper body and core. Also new are the Foxtrot with its upbeat tempo, American Smooth, think a USA version of the Foxtrot and the Rumba which really works the abs and waist as well as being a great confidence builder.

Experts at Fitness First have also added a few new elements to favourites such as the Quickstep which is faster than before for a great cardio workout. The Jive has new moves incorporated and the Salsa gives more opportunity to dance with a partner.

Fitness First has also introduced a new soundtrack for the classes with plenty of upbeat music to Jive, Cha Cha Cha and Salsa to in the studios. Expect to hear from the likes of Take That, Enrique and Michael Bublé.

“Strictly Fit is one of the most popular group exercise classes we have ever launched and appeals to a diverse range of people of all ages, many of whom may never have considered the gym or even exercise classes before,’’ said Derek Crawford.
