Delhi-cious holiday discounts

21st September 2010 Print

Leading Asia specialist, Travel Indochina, is marking this year’s hosting of the Commonwealth Games in Delhi, by offering its customers 10% off all small group journeys to India booked before 31st October 2010.

What’s more, the tour operator is giving away a free night’s accommodation in Delhi (pre-trip) for all small group journeys departing from the capital city.

Ranging from 7 to 22 days in length, these journeys enable customers to mix with the locals, gain a deeper and more authentic understanding of India and visit the ‘off-the-beaten track’ hidden gems as well as the more well-known key attractions. And even better news, the offer applies on all journeys taken in the remainder of 2010 and for the duration of 2011.

Among the small group journeys available is the new 7-day “Taste of India”, giving customers the chance to explore Delhi’s grand monuments and take a walk through Old Delhi’s markets , witness the stunning Taj Mahal’s grandeur at both sunrise and sunset, and journey to Jaipur in colourful Rajasthan. The journey also includes an off-the-beaten track jeep safari through traditional villages near Samode, a unique finish and twist on the standard golden triangle route. Prices (based on twin share) from £795 per person.

Alternatively, for those with slightly more time on their hands, why not join the 12-day “Spirit of the Himalayas” or the 14-day “Highlights of Rajasthan” small group journeys. The former explores India’s mountainous areas with highlights including a heritage walk in Shimla, a World Heritage-listed ‘toy train’, the Tibetan centre of Dharamsala, home to the Dalai Lama, and the exquisite Golden Temple. Prices start from £1,400 per person (twin share). The “Highlights of Rajasthan” journey gives customers an in-depth insight into this beautiful region, taking in the atmospheric beauty of Rajasthan’s majestic forts, palaces and villages with an unforgettable opportunity to spend a night in a deluxe tent atop the Thar Desert’s sand dunes. Prices from £1,760 per person (twin share).

Chris Orme, Travel Indochina’s general manager comments: “India will be in the public eye during the period of the Commonwealth Games, and we want to offer people who are inspired by the atmosphere and colour of the destination the chance to soak up the experience themselves.”

Travel Indochina’s small group journeys take travellers to see and experience the ‘real’ Asia in groups no larger than 16 people.

All bookings should be made directly with Travel Indochina’s UK office and are subject to availability. Not valid for existing bookings or in conjunction with any other Travel Indochina offer.
