Small is beautiful at Carole Nash Motorcycle Live

Carole Nash Motorcycle Live has announced that two further scooter brands have signed up to exhibit at this year’s event at the NEC in Birmingham from 27 November to 5 December, making a total of 32 manufacturers showing their new 2011 models.

Chinese manufacturer Baotian and Neco from Belgium will add to the scooter and small motorcycle line-up at Carole Nash Motorcycle Live. Brands already exhibiting this type of model include the return of Sym, Moto GB, Honda, the Piaggio and Barrus groups and the continued support of Yamaha and Suzuki – all underlining the fact that the event is geared as much for new and younger riders and commuters as it is for those preferring larger and more powerful machines.

There will be plenty of opportunities for riders aged from 5 to 95 to try out scooters and motorcycles at the event. For the very small, Honda will be bringing its ever-popular My First Licence feature, while Suzuki’s Off-Road Experience will give young ones the chance to learn machine control and have some fun – both in an enclosed and safe environment with plenty of photo opportunities.

Meanwhile, for those aged over 16 who are more serious about getting on the road, the industry-backed Get On campaign will offer free taster sessions on scooters and small motorcycles within the dedicated Get On area in Hall 4.

Add to that Yamaha’s recently-announced indoor and outdoor Off-Road Experiences and the Test Ride Zone, and the event offers more chances than ever before for young and new riders to get on small bikes and scooters to get a feel for what motorcycling can offer.

Finlay McAllan, Managing Director of event organisers MCI Exhibitions is excited about the prospects: “Like many others, our industry has been through a tough couple of years, but with 32 motorcycle and scooter manufacturers exhibiting at this year’s event, there's a real feeling of confidence returning which means there’ll certainly be plenty of shiny new metal to see.”

He added: “With all these experiential features, however, you don’t have to restrict yourself simply to sitting on the new models any more. The many opportunities to actually try a bike mean there’ll be even more to enjoy at The NEC for the entire family.”
