Double show home opening at Woodland Park, Darwen
Here is some good news for homebuyers. On Saturday 2nd October a new phase of Miller Homes’ popular Woodland Park development on Anyon Street, Darwen is to be officially opened with the unveiling of two new stunning show homes.
The new show homes are a Milne 3-bed detached and a Tolkien 3-bed, 3 storey semi-detached. These are two of the nine new 2 and 3-bed house designs in this latest phase, which will offer a further 70 new homes close to the town centre.
More good news comes in the purchasing options Miller Homes offers. There is a new allocation of homes offered with the Government backed HomeBuy Direct scheme. HomeBuy Direct is designed to help households with an income of less than £60,000. Typically; first time buyers, key workers and people living in privately rented property and who want to escape the rental trap. People that meet the criteria and qualify are offered an equity loan of up to 30% of the property value. This equity loan is repayable over 25 years and is interest free for the first five years.
With HomeBuy Direct for example buyers could move in to a £109,950 Burroughs 2-bed mews house with parking by paying from as little as £76,965 now. With the borrowing requirement reduced buyers could also find they are in a better position when applying for a mortgage.
The opening event is well timed with news that consumer confidence index increased by four points in August, to 18. This is seven points higher than this time last year. Interest rates are at there lowest for decades and mortgage lending increased by 15% in June.
