Simplyhealth steps up and supports Memory Walk 2010
For the third year running, healthcare provider Simplyhealth will be sponsoring Alzheimer's Society's biggest fundraising event - Memory Walk. During September, walkers will be putting their best foot forward in various locations across the country to raise essential funds for people living with dementia.
Abby Bowman from Simplyhealth comments: "Anyone touched by the affects of dementia can show their support by registering and being sponsored to take part in a local Memory Walk. These walks are also a great opportunity for a fun day out with all of the family. We are delighted to be involved with Memory Walk and hope these events succeed in raising vital funds for local support services and essential research into dementia."
There are 12 flagship events, and numerous local walks taking place this month. Simplyhealth joined in the growing number of individual walks, by holding its own walk at each of its office locations in Andover, Bristol, Leeds and Manchester.
2009 was Memory Walk's biggest year so far with over 14,500 walkers raising more than £470,000 to help local communities. With hundreds of walks taking place across the country throughout September, the Alzheimer's Society is hoping that 2010 will be even bigger.
