Taylor Wimpey swapped bricks and mortar for sea and sand castles when it arranged for 46 children and parents from Rose Hill in Oxford to visit the seaside for the day.

The housebuilder donated £800 to cover the cost of the coach trip to Bournemouth to give the children and their families a well deserved day out. With places allocated on a first come, first serve basis seats were quickly snapped up by kids eager to see the sea – some for the very first time.

Tracey Forsyth from Rose Hill Early Years and Family Support said: “I can’t thank Taylor Wimpey enough for the coach trip. It was a fantastic day and provided a lot of fun and a great opportunity for children and adults to get to know each other – it really helped to bring the community together. It was great to give the children a new environment and some fresh sea air for the day and we hope we can work with Taylor Wimpey to do it again next year!"

Danielle Harrison, Taylor Wimpey’s sales manager, commented: “We were delighted to be able to sponsor the trip to the seaside for the families at Rose Hill. Taylor Wimpey at Rose Hill is part of a regeneration scheme designed to meet the needs of the whole community and give the area a new lease of life, so it’s very important to us that we are able to support the local community wherever possible.”

Situated on the outskirts of Oxford, Rose Hill benefits from a host of local amenities and facilities. It is situated a short distance from the ring road offering easy access into Oxford city centre, whilst Redbridge Park and Ride is also nearby. The A34 is approximately five minutes away which links to the M40 for easy access to London and the Midlands.
