Honda gears up for 2011 new model unveilings

1st October 2010 Print

Honda is gearing up for a busy Autumn season with the unveiling of its new-for-2011 motorcycle model line-up, across three international events.

The first of the unveilings will take place at the Cologne-based Intermot Show on 5 October, where Honda will introduce a host of dynamic new colours for its current machines. The German show will also be an opportunity to see the recently launched VT750S in the all-new-for 2011 striking Tricolour paint scheme.

A number of all-new Honda models will then make their world debuts at the International EICMA show in Milan from 2-7 November. The 1500sq meter Honda stand will be a focal attraction of EICMA and a certain destination for motorcycle enthusiast visitors to the show from across Europe.

Whilst two-wheel supporters in the UK will undoubtedly be able to see these all-new, and updated colour models, online and in print throughout October and November, Honda’s stand at Motorcycle Live! at the NEC from 27 November to 5 December, will provide the first opportunity to see and experience them first hand in the UK. Honda can’t announce exactly what the new models are just yet, but there’s sure to be something that catches the eye of all riders.

But it’s not all just about the bikes! During Motorcycle Live! there will be a range of things to see, do and experience in the Honda village. These include some great competitions on offer with money can’t buy prizes to be won, autograph signings and Q&As from Honda race aces from British and World Superbikes, Motocross, Road Racing and more, non-racing celebrity visits, the HM Plant Honda race truck and garage set up in the ‘Paddock’ area next to the Honda stand, as well as a Honda original goods merchandise stand with the latest range of trendy clothing and accessories. And even visitors with no experience of riding a bike can get involved, with Honda’s innovative and unique rider trainer, which will be on the Honda stand for people to learn how to ride a bike in the security of a static environment.

Younger visitors to the stand can also experience what it’s like to ride a bike with Honda’s unique ‘My First Licence’. Children between the ages of 5 and 11 can ride and be guided around a specially constructed street scene to experience the fun of two wheels, whilst also learning about road safety and awareness and, come away with their very own printed mock licence.

For those slightly older, why not take a look at career opportunities within Honda as a motorcycle technician by chatting with one of the team on the stand about Honda’s award winning apprentice programme.

Steve Martindale, Honda (UK) Motorcycles’ General Manager said, “It’s that time of year again for new model announcements and for 2011, we’ve got some great new and dynamic colours to introduce as well as some fantastic brand new models. These will further enhance Honda’s already comprehensive range of bikes and meet the desires of our customers even further.”
