The Vale do Lobo Ocean Golf Course, as its name suggests, is situated on the very edge of the coastline and allows golfers to tee-off alongside some of the most incredible ocean views in the Algarve. The Par 71 layout was part of the original 18-hole course designed by the legendary Sir Henry Cotton back in 1962.

Flanked by pine and eucalyptus trees, the course is part links with gently undulating fairways leading down to the shores of the Atlantic. The Royal Golf Course, created in 1997, is one of Europe's most acclaimed golf courses. Attention to detail and concern for the natural environment have played a significant part in the overall course design, with wild flowers and natural pine forests surrounding lakes and sandy bunkers. Based on an original concept created by Sir Henry Cotton and designed by American architect Rocky Roquemore, the Royal Golf Course includes the famous 16th hole. The cliff-top par 3 is arguably one of the most celebrated golfing images in the world.
