Cologne Intermot kicks off today with many manufacturers unveiling their new models for 2011. Bike fans that can’t make it to the German motorcycle show haven’t got long to wait before their future dream models hit UK soil – in a matter of weeks they will all be on display at Carole Nash Motorcycle Live.

One of the most eagerly-awaited supersports bikes for 2011 – the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R – made its debut at Cologne. Based on Kawasaki’s new World Superbike racer and sporting advanced traction control and three selectable power modes up to a rumoured 200 horsepower, this stunning model will be on display in Birmingham from 27 November.

BMW Motorrad took the chance to launch its two new super-tourers on home turf, both of which feature an incredibly compact 1600cc in-line six-cylinder power plant. The K 1600 GT and K 1600 GTL feature all the top-of-the-range goodies you would expect from the German giant and will both be on show in Birmingham.

Suzuki unveiled no fewer than three new machines for 2011. The iconic GSX-R range gets all-new 600 and 750 models, developed in parallel with each other and boasting a host of innovative features taken straight from MotoGP. Also unveiled at Intermot – and heading to the NEC in November – was Suzuki's all-new GSR750, a blend of the modern and the futuristic with a powerful 749cm3 four-cylinder fuel-injected engine.

Other new models introduced include the Aprilia Dorsoduro 1200, which marks the debut of the new 1200cc Aprilia V Twin engine. KTM revealed the 125 Duke – the manufacturer’s first road-only 125cc machine – as well as the race-inspired, track-ready RC8 Track and the ABS-equipped 990SM-T.

Triumph unveiled the updated Street Triple naked, which promises to be lighter and more powerful than its predecessor, along with the stunning Thunderbird Storm 700 power cruiser, while Honda announced new colour schemes for the CBR600RR and the Fireblade.

See these bikes, and many more, in all their glory at Carole Nash Motorcycle Live at The NEC, Birmingham from November 27 – December 5. This year’s event promises to be the biggest and best yet, with the introduction of a huge array of interactive features alongside the traditional attractions that keep motorcycle fans coming back year after year.

Tickets for Motorcycle Live are £15 in advance for adults, £10 for Seniors, £5 for children aged 11-16 – kids under 10 go free. Go to motorcyclelive.co.uk for details.
