Phil Hollows, site manager at a George Wimpey development in Prescot, has had his great work at the housing site recognised for the fifth time in a national awards scheme.

Five times winner Phil is site manager at George Wimpey Manchester’s Manor Court development on Steley Way. He has won a Quality Award from the National House Building Council (NHBC) in its Pride in the Job Awards scheme.

2010 sees the 30th anniversary of the Pride in the Job Awards – the only awards which recognise the work of site managers.

There were more than 13,000 contenders for the Pride in the Job awards this year. Phil is one of just 400 to receive a Quality Award and he now qualifies for the next heat where entrants will battle it out to earn an NHBC Seal of Excellence award.

Winning a Pride in the Job award involves a huge amount of commitment and hard work. Judging is based on 38 different elements of site management, from technical knowledge, consistency in the build process to excellent leadership and organisational skills.

Phil said: “It’s unbelievable really to think that out of all the site managers in the country, I am one of the few who have come out with this award. We have great team spirit here and I push everyone to achieve the highest level of work possible and I believe we consistently do that.”

George Wimpey Manchester managing director Bob Pickthall has congratulated Phil on his efforts.

He said: “To receive the Pride in the Job Quality Award for a second time is a great achievement for Phil and is evidence of the high standards our site managers work towards. I’m sure visitors to the development will be very happy to hear that build work is managed by a five time award winner.

“Only site managers who demonstrate exceptional standards in every area of their work on site and the homes they build are considered for a Pride in the Job award, so we are immensely proud of the recognition Phil has achieved.”

Manor Court is ideally placed for residents to take advantage of all Prescot has to offer and caters for buyers on all stages of the property ladder, with three bedroom semi-detached, mews and detached properties and four bedroom detached homes. Prices currently start from £133,445 with Taylor Wimpey’s great Easystart shared equity scheme.
