Pentagon’s Glynn Canters to another award
Commercial vehicle operators in Hampshire and Dorset are being invited by the country’s number one sales specialist to try the latest, clean ‘green’ version of the popular Fuso Canter light truck range.
Glynn Lawrence works for Pentagon Commercials, which is best known as a Mercedes-Benz truck and van dealer. But like other members of the German manufacturer’s UK franchised network, Pentagon is also responsible for sales and support of the Fuso Canter, a vehicle renowned for its rugged strength and reliability, as well its market-leading payload in the key 7.5-tonne gross weight segment.
Glynn recently beat off the challenge of his counterparts from dealerships nationwide to land the prestigious Canter Sales Specialist of the Year title. His success set the seal on a year of great progress for Pentagon Commercials, which has headquarters in Fareham, and other facilities in Andover, Poole, Portsmouth and Southampton.
As well as making the final three in the race to win the blue riband Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicle Dealer of the Year award, Pentagon was also nominated in the category for Mercedes-Benz CharterWay Best Performing Dealer of the Year – Mercedes-Benz CharterWay is the manufacturer’s in-house commercial vehicle finance division.
“Glynn had another great year and thoroughly deserves his recognition,” declared Dealer Principal Gary Brown. “And although we just missed out on the Dealer of the Year award, the fact that we finished in the top three from a field of 21 underlines how far this company has come in the last 12 months. It was a great result, and one in which every member of the company team can take great pride.”
The launch of the latest Euro 5 version of the Fuso Canter represents a great opportunity for Glynn, who is now offering two demonstration units – a 3.5-tonne tipper and a 7.5-tonne curtainsider – for trial by prospective customers.
As well as lower exhaust emissions, Euro 5 Canters offer reduced fuel consumption and – thanks to their light weight – even higher payloads.
Winner of the Canter Sales Specialist of the Year trophy in 2004, Glynn joined Pentagon in 2002 but has worked in the truck and van business since 1978. “It’s always nice to gain recognition from your peers and while the market remains pretty tough, the Euro 5 Canter is a great product and well worth a look,” he said.
