Government help for first time buyers in Peterborough

A Government-backed scheme that helps first time buyers secure a home without a large deposit has been extended at one Peterborough based development.

Housebuilder Morris, the developer behind the Edgewood development, in Hampton Vale West, will be one of the few developments in the country to still offer the Government-led HomeBuy Direct scheme beyond September.

The popular scheme which enables qualifying first time buyers to purchase a new home with a mortgage for just 70 per cent of its market value has helped thousands of homebuyers take that first leap into home ownership.

The scheme will be available on a range of two and three bedroom homes at Morris’ Edgewood Development which start from just £76,825*.

Cindy Vials, regional sales director for Morris, said “The HomeBuy Direct scheme really is as good as it sounds. It eliminates the biggest hassle of buying a first home – saving for the deposit – and means that you can get onto the property ladder sooner rather than later.

“The schemes first wave ended in September for most regions across the country but we’re pleased that we’re now able to offer it at Edgewood as the development has proved popular with first time buyers.”

The Edgewood development is located in the beautiful countryside of Hampton Vale West with great access to all local amenities, including the large Serpentine Green shopping centre and a number of other retail outlets, restaurants and a supermarket.

For more information on Edgewood, visit the sales office (open Thursday to Monday between 10.30am to 5.30pm) signposted from West Lake Avenue, Hampton Vale West, Peterborough.

* Price quoted is 70% of the marketed price on selected homes under the HomeBuy Direct scheme. Subject to terms and conditions. Price is correct at time of going to press.
