Classic British bike enthusiasts are in for a treat at this year’s Footman James Classic Motorbike Show as the very best of Blighty’s two-wheelers converge on Birmingham’s NEC from 12-14 November.

From everyday post-war commuter BSA Bantams to high-performance BSA Rocket 3s and Triumph Tridents through to the highly sought-after Vincent, there’s something for every Bri-bike fan

And there’s a strong turn-out from the AJS and Matchless Owners’ Club, which is promising a wide range of bikes including a 1961 Model 31 CSR 650 (an original one-owner machine), a 1928 Model K9 and a 1942 example modified into a bobber.

The BSA Gold Star Owners’ Club is showing two racers, a trials bike and a selection of singles and twins while the Norton Owners’ Club is marking 60 years of the Featherbed frame. A Norton Commando is also appearing on the Clifford Arms Bike and Car Club stand.

For sheer performance the Trident and Rocket 3 Motorcycle Club is promising some true rarities, including the P1, which was the original prototype for the Trident. There’s also a Rob North F750 Replica and the eighth F750 factory racer, which was the first to win a race when Paul Smart posted first at Crystal Palace in August 1970.

A stunning line-up is promised on Vincent HRD Owners’ Club stand, which features a complete set of V-twins: a Series A Rapide, Series B and C Black Shadows and a Series D Black Prince are joined by a series C Rapide which in 1970 was ridden from Coventry to Australia, and then shipped from New Zealand to Panama and ridden to Vancouver. There’s also an example of the Vincent-NSU Fox which, powered by a 98cc engine, was the smallest Vincent produced.

Meanwhile a Brough-Superior motorcycle is promised on the Railton Owners’ club stand in the adjacent Footman James Classic Motor Show.

The show will also feature displays from the UK’s favourite motorcycle clubs, a trader village and a popular Bikejumble as well as a live interview stage and classic bike trials action. For more information on the Footman James Classic Motorbike Show, visit classicmotorbikeshow.co.uk.
