HMRC Twitter brings in the New Year

HMRC has begun trialling the use of Twitter, in the lead up to the 31 January Self Assessment deadline, with the username @hmrcgovuk.The full Twitter policy can be found at hmrc.gov.uk/news/twitter.htm  

HM Revenue & Customs Permanent Secretary for tax, Dave Hartnett, said: "This is an excellent way for agents to find out quickly and easily what is going on at HMRC, although it is important to remember that we will never discuss individual taxpayer's affairs using Twitter."
