With a number of buy-to-let purchasers already snapping up properties at Tallsticks, in Filton, Redrow has a strong message for would-be investors looking for a higher yield on their savings.

With their convivial layouts and high specification interiors, the ‘Ellery’ houses are potentially a great option for investors looking for property with bags of rental potential in a sought-after location, just a few miles from the city centre, close to the University of Western England and the MoD’s Abbey Wood site.

Many buy-to-let investors have already purchased and successfully let out properties at the venture, just north of Bristol, and there’s still time for others to share in their success.

Hayley Zaple, areas sales manager for Redrow Homes (South West), said: “Redrow Homes has a proven track record of providing investors with great opportunities to purchase properties which could provide them with a constant and continual income.

“Based on the estimated rentals value of our two-bedroom houses, the potential is certainly there for one-off cash investors to currently get a higher return on the savings than if they leave their money in the bank.”

Bristol estate agents Ocean recently assessed the potential rental values for the properties at Tallsticks. They calculated that the ‘Ellery’ houses, priced at £184,995, could be let out for between £695 and £750 a month, demonstrating the fantastic investment potential of these properties.

There are also four-bedroom contemporary ‘Routledge’ townhouses available, priced from £259,995, which Ocean have calculated can be let for between £1150 and £1250 a month.

Hayley added: “We believe there is strong rental demand for smaller two-bedroom homes in the area from professionals, couples and students at nearby UWE, all looking for a spacious home, with a traditional layout and a garden.

“The Ellery houses benefit from a sociable open-plan living and dining room, separate kitchen, downstairs cloakroom and a convenient laundry area, which means noisy appliances are located away from the kitchen. Upstairs there are two good-sized bedrooms and a bathroom.”

The rental potential is further boosted due to the development’s close proximity to the University and a number of big employers locally, including the Ministry of Defence’s Abbey Wood site.

All homes at Tallsticks are being built to Level 3 of the Code for Sustainable Homes, which means they include special features designed to keep water and energy usage to a minimum; this will hopefully translate into lower bills for residents.

Tallsticks is one the individual ‘hamlets’ that make up the new urban village of Cheswick, north of Bristol. Others include The Bowery and Aurora Spring, which feature more traditional looking, mostly detached homes, whilst Tallsticks caters for those wanting something more modern in its approach all built to the same high quality standards.

Cheswick is close to Parkway train station and within easy reach of the M4 and M5 motorways, so it’s a great location for those travelling into or out of town.
