Live music nights at The Granville @ Barford

Sunday nights in January will no longer be dull and boring as The Granville @ Barford in Warwickshire announces two fantastic live music nights.

The award-winning dining pub will be playing host to ‘The Pete Watkins Experience’ on Sunday 16 January and ‘Out of the Blue’ on Sunday 30 January. Both bands start from 8:30pm. Best of all, admission is completely free of charge which is a blessing after the expense of Christmas!

The Pete Watkins Experience, which consists of Pete Watkins and Gary Warmington, will be making their debut appearance at the Granville. The band performs an exciting mix of legendary rock and popular music from the late 70's up to the present day. Pete Watkins, both as a solo performer and with the band, has built up a strong reputation for providing great crowd pleasing music. The duo covers hits from The Jam to The Stereophonics, REM to the Manic Street Preachers, Squeeze to The Killers, Elvis Costello to Snow Patrol and The Kinks to Kings of Leon. Last November Pete played with original members of The Kinks at the annual Kinks International Fan Club Convention in London and in December supported The Blockheads at The Mill Theatre in Banbury.

Out of the Blue is a firm favourite at the Granville having played many times in the past. Unfortunately after 15 years the band is going their separate ways so this will be the last chance for people to see the band perform together. Performing a range of classic sixties and seventies covers, Out of the Blue consists of Harry on bass, Terry on drums, Eddie on lead guitar and backing vocals, and Soot as the front man.

Val Kersey, Proprietor of The Granville, stated “After the excitement of Christmas, Sunday nights in winter can often be flat so we’ve invited a couple of local talented bands to brighten up our evenings. We intend to host a couple of live music nights each month for everyone to enjoy and soak up the atmosphere. Knowing that people have little spare cash after Christmas they’ll be pleased to know admission to all our live music nights is free of charge!

The Granville @ Barford is situated 1 mile from the M40 at junction 15 on the A429 sign-posted to Stow-on-the-Wold. Please visit the website at granvillebarford.co.uk for further information.
