Sculpture scheme to enhance new homes in High Wycombe

Taylor Wimpey hosts a special exhibition to launch an exciting new public art project at its Kingshill Grange development of apartments and houses for sale in High Wycombe.
Leading housebuilder Taylor Wimpey is holding a community art event to mark the unveiling of exciting designs for a sculpture in the grounds of the Kingshill Grange development of property for sale in High Wycombe.
Respected British artist Peter Randall-Page has been commissioned by Taylor Wimpey, the developer behind the new collection of apartments and houses in High Wycombe, to create a stone sculpture centrepiece for the new homes and, as part of a public art exhibition at the Royal Grammar School in High Wycombe on Friday 21st January, he will give a talk on his work.
The event, which is free to attend, will showcase the artistic talents of pupils at the Royal Grammar School and Highworth County Combined Primary School, alongside design-concept drawings by Randall-Page for his new installation at the development of High Wycombe property.
Many of Randall-Page’s sculptures are held in public and private collections throughout the world, including the permanent collections of the Tate Gallery and British Museum. For more information on his work please visit peterrandall-page.com.
Bill Luck, Senior Design and Planning Executive for Taylor Wimpey West London said: “This is a wonderful opportunity for the whole community to become involved in an exciting new artwork in High Wycombe, as well as seeing the creative talents of some of the local pupils who are working with Peter Randall-Page during the project.”
On Thursday 6th and Friday 7th January, children from Highworth Primary School visited Taylor Wimpey’s Kingshill Grange development to find out more about the sculpture and take part in a day-long workshop to discover how Peter’s work uses nature, maths and geometry. Pupils from the school will also be invited to plant 12 trees after the stone sculpture is installed this spring, to complete the artwork.
Graeme Kilner, Head teacher at Highworth said: “We’re thrilled to be part of this public art project which we are sure will become a new focal point for the whole community to enjoy and a nationally significant art work.”
The finished sculpture will reflect the tranquil, tree-lined setting of the new apartments and houses currently on sale at Kingshill Grange. Further information on the properties is available by visiting the development off Kingshill Road, open seven days a week between 10.30am and 5.30pm.
Those keen to attend the public exhibition, on Friday 21st January between 7pm and 9pm, should reserve places by sending their name, address and contact telephone number, along with the number of free tickets they would like, to: art@webbpr.net
