Honda goes Hollywood and arty at Motorcycle Show

13th January 2011 Print

Honda will feature Hollywood and art, alongside its acclaimed range of scooters and motorcycles, at next month’s MCN London Motorcycle Show at ExCeL (3-6 February), with a special CB600FA Hornet sporting a unique Hollywood blockbuster film paint scheme to be won and, an artist inspired CBR100RR Fireblade display.

The Honda (UK) stand (stand N555) will host Honda’s current range of machines and some of the stunning new-for-2011 colours, including the new Tricolour and Repsol-liveried Fireblades, the new orange and silver metallic special edition CBR600RR, plus the award winning ‘Sports Tourer of the Year’ VFR1200F, which is now offered in the additional sleek Black Metallic colour scheme. The new-for 2011 CBR600F, CBR250R and CBR125R pre-production machines will unfortunately not be available to see, as they were at Motorcycle Live at the NEC last November, although the production machines will be available in Honda motorcycle dealerships and for test rides from March.

The ‘Power of Lean’ tilting motorcycle stand, a first for any motorcycle manufacturer, will also feature in Honda’s display to enable visitors to experience the lean angle and feel of some of Honda’s machines, and for less experienced or new riders, Honda’s innovative ‘rider trainer’ will be on hand for people to experience life on two wheels in the safety of a static environment.

The unique CB600FA Hornet with its striking paint scheme and host of Genuine Honda Accessories - inspired by Honda’s association with Sony Pictures and ‘The Green Hornet’ anticipated blockbuster due out in cinemas from tomorrow - is the star prize in an exclusive prize draw being offered by Honda until 14 February 2011. MCN London motorcycle show visitors can enter this great prize draw on the Honda stand, with motorcycle enthusiasts across the UK also in with a chance to win by visiting their local Honda motorcycle dealer to complete and submit an entry form.

Also featuring at ExCeL is the impressive Fireblade display which took pride of place in the main Selfridges windows in London last summer. Artist Kyle Bean, with his display theme of ‘The Conservation of Mass’, suspended one complete Fireblade and ‘balanced’ it out with another which was dismantled into hundreds of individual parts, to highlight how matter cannot be created or destroyed, only transformed.

Visitors can also see Honda motorcycles in action with off-road CRF100s and the Montesa trials bike in the new Revolution Live Performance action arena, which features TT legend and Honda rider John McGuinness as part of the riding team.

If the buzz of the Revolution Live Performance show gets your riding taste buds going, why not look into booking yourself a place with Honda’s three experience partners, the Ron Haslam Race School, Mick Extance Off-Road Experience and Redtread Spain, all of which will have a presence on the Honda (UK) stand.

Whether you enjoy riding on the road, track or off-road, for leisure or for work, on a small capacity scooter or a bigger engine tourer for the open road, Honda Motorcycles offers a range of bikes for every purpose and level of riding experience and looks forward to welcoming you to the Honda stand at the MCN London Motorcycle Show.
