Olympic silver medallist and former world champion, Roger Black, is set to open Fitness First’s new £1 million club, Spitalfields Tower, in the heart of London’s financial district on 3 February 2011.

Guests and members are invited to take part in a host of activities and fitness challenges to help raise money for Fitness First’s official charity for 2011, Asthma UK.

The much anticipated launch has created quite a stir in the area with over 1,000 new members already signed up to use the club before its official opening.

This is hardly surprising, when more than £1 million has been invested in the new club to provide members with over 8,000 sq ft of fitness space. There is also state-of-the-art cardio facilities, a fitness suite with the latest Technogym equipment and a vibrant group exercise studio offering one of the widest ranges of group exercise classes in the capital including the newly launched ‘Get Fit with Mel B’ created by the former Spice Girl with Fitness First.

The new club will also be one of the first in the country to offer Fitness First’s innovative freestyle area where members can use the latest developments in fitness equipment and techniques, either on their own, or with the assistance of a personal trainer. Some of the leading tools in the fitness industry such as ViPR, Kettle Bells, TRX Power Bags and Plyometric Platforms will be readily available to use for all members.

“Fitness has become an important factor in the lives of many of those who live and work in London, and at Spitalfields Tower we will also be offering the diversity and innovation to help keep members motivated with exciting equipment.” said head of operations for Fitness First London, Michelle Everett.

“The new club will provide an innovative place for people from all walks of life to come and workout with like minded people with one thing in common – they all want to get fit.”
