Honda (UK) and dealer George White have each been given an award by MCI Exhibitions Ltd, organiser of Motorcycle Live at the NEC in Birmingham, after their stands were voted as the visitors’ favourites following last November’s show.

Honda’s impressive stand revolved around the Honda Racing Café where visitors could take a coffee break to consider Motorcycle Live’s huge variety of interactive features. Honda also brought its ever-popular ‘My First Honda Licence’ to the nine-day event, offering kids as young as five the chance to ride a motorcycle for the very first time.

Along with all Honda’s new-for-2011 models, the company’s stand also boasted an innovative and industry-first technical feature which allowed potential customers to lean – just as they would whilst riding on the road – on new bikes such as the ever-popular CBR1000RR Fireblade.

As part of ongoing research into Motorcycle Live, visitors were asked to rate which manufacturer and non-manufacturer stand gave them the best experience. While Honda picked up the honours as the fans’ favourite manufacturer stand, George White Superbikes was rated as the best non-manufacturer experience.

The UK’s largest motorcycle dealer group, which represents all the major manufacturer brands, including Honda, brought a massive retail presence to Motorcycle Live, offering visitors a comprehensive shopping experience and access to some fantastic motorcycling bargains on clothing and accessories.

Finlay McAllan, managing director of MCI Exhibitions, said: “Both Honda and George White typified the remarkable efforts that every single exhibitor made to ensure that Motorcycle Live was a success. This online vote reflected the general comments we’ve received on the show – that it offered an amazing variety of interactive opportunities and put a lot of people on bikes. Honda and George White played a major role in that success.”

Honda (UK) Motorcycles general manager, Steve Martindale, commented: “We’re delighted that Honda has received this award for the best manufacturer’s stand at Motorcycle Live, but we’re even more pleased that it was our customers and the great British biking public who voted to say that Honda gave them the best experience.”

He continued: “Being at the show last year was a great experience for us and it was fantastic for us to use Motorcycle Live to debut our 2011 model range in the UK. The event was possibly the best it’s ever been and was exactly what Honda and the wider industry needed to showcase what motorcycling is all about.”

Pete Cleverly, sales manager at George White Superbikes, said: “This award means a huge amount to us because Motorcycle Live is one of our main opportunities to take our retail offering to a wider audience than we get visiting our stores. It gives us a big boost at the beginning of a new sales year, so a massive thanks from everyone at George White to all those who took part.”
