Limited availability on popular Peterborough homes

Thanks to the Government-led 70 per cent shared equity scheme, HomeBuy Direct, more and more first time buyers have been successful in buying their dream home at Persimmon Homes’ Life2 development in Hampton, but as the incentive comes to an end, househunters are being urged to find out more about the scheme before it’s too late.

“HomeBuy Direct is an excellent selling tool as it allows those struggling to save a large deposit, to get a foothold onto the property ladder and buy a beautiful home of their own with relative ease,” states David Hodgson, sales director for Persimmon Homes East Midlands.

Through HomeBuy Direct, purchasers own 100 per cent of their property, after initially raising a small five per cent deposit and a mortgage to the value of 70 per cent of the asking price. The remaining 30 per cent is made up of an interest free loan, which is repayment free for the first ten years.

Prices through the scheme at Life2 therefore start from just £128,096 for a three bedroom Fairford housetype, with only a deposit of little over £6,000 required.
