T-Mobile launches shorter term phone plans to help small businesses

2nd March 2011 Print

T-Mobile has announced four new business pay monthly phone plans, tailored to the specific needs of small business customers.

T-Mobile becomes the only network to offer a 6 month plan with a free phone to business customers in the UK. It has also launched an 18 month plan with all the value you would expect from a 24 month plan. Other new offerings include a 30 day SIM only plan and a 24 month phone plan.

T-Mobile research found that small business owners in our fast-changing economy today want shorter phone plans, where they aren’t locked into lengthy contractual commitments. By offering a choice of 6 month, 18 month, 24 month and 30 day SIM only plans, T-Mobile aims to provide small business customers with the most flexible options on the market.

Martin Lyne, Director of SME Marketing at T-Mobile, comments, “Our customers told us it didn’t make sense for their business to be locked into long term contracts when times are changing. Having the flexibility to adapt things quickly if needed is key to a small business’ ability to survive and thrive, so we believe these shorter term plans, will be a great fit for small businesses.”

“As a small business owner, it’s often difficult to predict how your business will be doing 6 months ahead, let alone much longer, so having the flexibility to adapt is really important,” says T-Mobile customer Geraldine Brooks of women’s networking group sugargroup. “It’s a tough market out there, especially for small businesses working to establish themselves. Working on the move, working from home or emailing late at night are all just a part of doing business. To have a communications plan where you only pay for what you need, without committing to long term contracts, is a great idea.”

A Flexible Booster, changeable every month and allowing customers to purchase extra texts, minutes, internet or roaming depending on their need, is also included in the 18 month, 24 month and 30 day SIM only plans.

The new offerings come with a range of extras designed to help small businesses run more smoothly, including free next day phone replacement, free business voicemails, dedicated UK call centre support and online billing. It’s also possible to select a variety of phones to suit each level of staff – whether it’s a smartphone or a phone for purely voice and text.

To tie in with these offerings, T-Mobile is currently running a online competition for small businesses with £2,000 up for grabs for the winning entry. For more information or to enter, visit t-mobile.co.uk/smallbusinesschange. Deadline for entries is 1st April.

Business pay monthly phone plans are available through T-Mobile’s direct channels as well as selected Business Partners and Distributors. For more information visit t-mobile.co.uk/business. The price plan is available on the high street via T-Mobile stores across the country.
