The Vauxhall UK Beatbox Championships are back for another year, and to launch the competition Vauxhall Motors has created a pair of stylish headphones in the shape of a New Corsa.

The creation of these bespoke headphones which showcase the unique design detail of the new New Corsa in miniature involved a team of artists making a mould in the unique shape of the car, before intricately affixing it around Skullcandy in-ear headphones.  The fully functioning headphones, which are the only pair in existence, will be presented to the winner of the Beatbox grand final on 11th June 2011.

For the fifth year running, Vauxhall’s sponsorship of the UK Beatbox Championships shines a spotlight on the best of UK beatbox talent. Competitors are hoping to follow in the footsteps of previous winners, Beardyman, MC Zani and Reeps One, the aspiring beatboxers are hoping they have what it takes to become the UK champion and drive away with a New Corsa SXi.

Wendy Towler from Vauxhall Motors, comments: “Vauxhall Motors is proud to sponsor the Vauxhall UK Beatbox Championships, and offer a platform for Britain’s best young beatboxers. The Corsa headphones are a fun and stylish way to celebrate the five year sponsorship in which Vauxhall has been delighted to aid the growth of the British Beatbox scene.”

The regional heats will take place in London, Liverpool and Nottingham.  Heat winners, decided by both the crowd and judges, will then head to London for the grand final. Unleashing their vocal artistry at the renowned O2 Islington Academy, each finalist must use their full array of tricks and rhythmical prowess to impress the roaring crowd and judges. Loud-mouth legend, Stig of the Dump will be conducting proceedings and for 2011, the crowd will also be treated to performances from some surprise star guests and judges.
