Discover the Cook Islands with new micro-site

29th March 2011 Print

The Cook Islands Tourism Corporation has unveiled a brand new micro-site in co-operation with Air New Zealand, Austravel, Turquoise Holidays and Gullivers Sports Travel.

The site, cookislands.travel/uk, featuring exclusive offers, also gives UK consumers the chance to win one of two amazing holidays to the Cook Islands, with a value of over £5,000 each.

The micro-site has launched as part of an integrated campaign which runs from 16th March until 30th April 2011.  The campaign features advertorials in The Daily Telegraph and Rugby World Magazine, email marketing to consumer databases, search engine and social media marketing and online display media on websites including Trip Advisor, Classic FM & Rugby World. The campaign aims to attract visitors interested in the Cook Islands’ as a destination for weddings & honeymoons, the stopover of choice en-route to or from Australia and New Zealand and as a rest and recuperation stopover on the way back from the Rugby World Cup 2011 in New Zealand.  Each tour operator is offering a completely different package to highlight the range of holidays available in the Cook Islands.

The Cook Islands Tourism Corporation has partnered with airlines and tour operators to ensure the campaign reaches its optimum audience. Air New Zealand, Austravel, Turquoise Holidays and Gullivers Sports Travel have all put together fantastic offers to the Cook Islands, which feature on both the micro-site and on strategically placed banner advertising.  All three operators have contributed contra-marketing activity to increase the value of the campaign through promotion of the Cook Islands to their consumer databases.

The UK campaign has received the support and partnership of the following Cook Island partners whose properties are sold by at least one of the three tour operators.  They have all contributed to the three holiday prizes being promoted in the micro-site and The Daily Telegraph website: Air Rarotonga, Aitutaki Lagoon Resort & Spa, Pacific Resort Aitutaki, Crown Beach Resort & Spa, Royal Takitumu Villas and Pacific Resort Rarotonga.
